WHAT I DID
For todays shoot we had to take photos involving the shape of lines. I wanted to step outside the box and try something I've never done before which to me is what these blog posts should be all about. I drew lines all over my face and neck of all different thicknesses and shapes. I then put my camera on self timer setting and took these images. I made sure to position a lamp on the side of my face because I wanted these photos to have extremely dramatic, contrasting lighting which I feel went well due to the highlights, shadows and contrast over my face. To improve these I went into photoshop and added a black background and then blended myself into it. I also put the photos in black and white and then turned up the contrast because i felt this accentuated the makeup i did even more.
INSPIRATION
I went onto Pinterest to gather my ideas for todays shoot. I saw a lot of portrait photography which involved shadows of lines projected onto someone's face which I thought was really authentic and effective. However, I was not able to project lines onto my face or find the correct lighting to do so, therefore I used eyeliner and drew the lines on instead. I actually preferred to do this because its more artistic and I'm always drawn into doing something as creative as possible and I love to involve my art skills into my photography as much as I can. These are the photos which inspired me most.
