WHAT I DID

For todays shoot we had to capture colour within its own form. I wanted to show how, at this time we as a community are all sticking together and how families are supporting one another in this tragedy. I decided to paint my families hands each a different colour to pursue the idea of the rainbow symbol for the NHS and of course to show there is still brightness and a light at the end of what seems to be a dark tunnel at this time. I directed my families hands to do many different positions such as holding hands, overlapping hands and moving their hands around to allow me to capture different angles and colours. For the editing process I increased the contrast and saturation to darken the background and allow the hands to stand out more and look more neon and glaring. i also increased the structure and highlights to makle the details and creases on the hands stand out.

INSPIRATION

I was looking on Pinterest for campaigns and I came across a LGBT community campaign which uses the idea of the rainbow symbol and hands to connote love and support. It came to mind that even though this is an extremely important campaign within itself, I thought it links to the NHS and their support at the moment which is signified with the rainbow as well. Here are some photos which inspired me most.
