LEADING LINES

WHAT I DID

For todays shoot we had to take photos of leading lines. I decided to go around my garden and take photos of anything I could find which leads the eyes into a place via the lines in the photos. I made sure to position my camera lower down; resulting in the lines getting smaller the further away you look which I think made this more effective. I also like the look of some of the photos where the background is out of focus because I focused my camera at the beginning of the leading line. This created more of an elongated illusion to the viewer. To edit my photos I put some in black and white because I felt like that made the attention and contrast stronger towards the lines which is what I wanted to happen. I also turned up the saturation and structure for the coloured photos i took because i love the way green and brown work together; they give off a natural earthy appeal which suited todays location involving the garden.

MOVING IMAGE/VIDEO

I created this moving image because I wanted to show how the lines move along and as you look further along the leading lines, it will guide your eyes into a background or focal point (in this sense the trees). I put on certain effects which I thought made the video more interesting and increased my ideas and what I wanted to pursue. I like the way the mirrored effect created other shapes such as triangles which pointed into the focal point as well just like the leading lines.

INSPIRATION

Todays shoot was inspired by photos I found on Pinterest of old, rustic train tracks with the greenery of the trees and bushes around them and in the background. I was inspired by these purely because of the colours and vibe it had, therefore I took my photos involving browns and greens because I thought it would relate quite nicely. I also liked the way these photos have long leading lines because it makes the overall photos look more 'intimidating' and elongated because of the wide view on the camera. Here are the photos...
