WHAT IS THE 'ME' TOPIC ABOUT?
together as a class we were given the topic 'ME' for our first blog post of May. We were told to either photograph ourselves or objects/ components that interest and represent us as individuals. When searching for inspiration, I realised I could incorporate the two which I was excited to try and experiment with.
WHAT I DID/ WHY
When forming these photos, I wanted to include a lot of colour and pattern because I felt like this would represent my personality and interests. As spoken about in my intro page, I love to include artistic skills and other creative skills to my photography, besides a pure photographic response. I feel this went well as all the paint strokes on my face represent my love for art. When taking the starting photos of myself, I tried to capture different sides and profiles to my face; giving myself a new platform to edit on. When editing on photoshop, I wanted to make sure the brush stroke colours harmonised with each other. therefore, in most of these photos the background colour works nicely with the colours added onto my face. Other than harmonising colours, I wanted to include contrast in these photos which is why I edited my face in greyscale. this allowed all the saturation to stand out more and work well against the base of my face.
